Presidential Voting Essay Example for Free

Presidential Voting EssayThe coming presidential election may be seen as a great semipolitical turning point for the country as the freshest ideologies are macrocosm imposed by the candidates. However, even though that there are two major choices for the presidency, my face-to-face alignment to Hillary Clintons disposition is truly evident. I really do think that she has more(prenominal) potential being a woman president that entrust serve as the ultimate pity and nurturing model for the whole nation alternatively of having a stiff and rigid type of governance. One very staple attribute of Clinton which I very much bid is the fact that she is a woman. In my observation, women leaders tend to be more compassionate towards the members of their jurisdiction. They are more open to suggestions of the general public therefore making them more transparent in understanding the true sentiment of the population. Just like a nurturing and caring mother, her stand about education is very evident that she is for the crucial benefit of the children which are seen as the basic foundation of the societys future. With her plan to autograph more competitive teachers and increasing their salaries, she will build a connection towards how the right plan of governance should be implemented to affect even the youngest population of her generation. Although Obama, her crucial competitor, also hold back a good sentiment about public education, her approach towards targeting a surplus for teachers would be more effective instead of making public education more available without any promise for quality as what Obama plans to initiate if elected.Another candidate platform that I like about Clinton is her stand towards the issues related to national security and peace and order. She is very much supportive of capital punishment which is seen to greatly affect the development of a stringent form of law order. On the other hand, her stand towards ending the war on Iraq is very f irm. Although she supports the withdrawal of U. S. troops in Iraq, she has devised a iii step plan to help the latter become stable with the aid of a high level U. N. peace broker. She has a very good 60 day time frame of plans in executing this crucial foreign policy development which is in direct contrast with Obamas very faint term of responsible ending the war in Iraq. On the aspect of finance, tax and budget issues, Clinton fully supports the idea of giving out a clean and balanced tax impositions to the different levels of social structures. She believes that in order to refer the tax collection more efficient without sacrificing the populations ability to have a decent lifestyle, there should be a maximized proportion of how much taxes are to be collected. For example, those who earn higher incomes can be subjected to adjusted taxes in order to fund health reforms. On the other hand, the middles class earners as well as the poor will be nominated with tax credits and incen tives. Moreover, she plans to provide tax deductions for tertiary education. For Clintons platform about healthcare, she is supporting the coverage of all Americans to get affordable and credible health care plans. If elected, she will make sure that each and every individual will be required to have a health plan. This will dramatically change the big panorama of insurance policies that will generate more opportunities for people to avail lower costs of health services. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama both have a very solid stall towards the issues pertaining to social development. Actually, they seem to have very common priorities in running a country. However, the main advantage of Clinton is her appealing projection towards the public as being a woman. Caring, nurturing, non-biased and open minded. These attributes are true significant conditions for her to be voted.

Pick a developing country Essay Example for Free

Pick a developing commonwealth EssayThe Philippines is a Southeast Asian plain composed of more than seven thousand and one hundred islands. Its capital is capital of the Philippines and its a developing democracy with a population of about 90 million people. Philippines, the people of the country, speak Filipino, the national diction, and English. The country has a long history of colonialism, having been subject to the rule of three foreign nations Spain, the United States, and Japan. These three colonial periods in the history of the country produced lasting effects on its culture, political system, economy, and geography. Although the Philippines has a long history of being a colony, its people had resisted colonizers when the interests of the country were endangered. The first colonizers of the country were the Spanish. Its believed that nearby territories in Southeast Asia traded with the Philippine islands long before the Spanish came. The first recorded resistance against Spanish colonization occurred in 1521 when Spanish explorers, led by Ferdinand Magellan landed in Mindanao, the southernmost region of the country (Schirmer Shalom, 1987, p. 193).According to historians, the Spaniards claimed the islands as Spanish territory and violated the women of the natives. They also attempted to baptize the natives as Christians, resulting in the resistance of some of the natives. Native leaders then decided to make war with the Spaniards and consequently killed the crew members, including Magellan. The Philippine history of colonialism did not end with the death of Magellan, however. In 1565, the Spanish returned to the Philippine islands with superior imperialistic techniques and weaponry.Within ten years, most of the seven thousand one hundred islands of the country had fallen to Spanish rule (Schirmer Shalom, 1987, p. 193). Through coordinated resistance movements across the country, the Philippines was able to break from Spanish rule in 1898, the first complete electric arc of an Asian country from a European colonizer. Philippine independence though was short-lived because Americans, who fought the Spaniards to free Cuba, eventually annexed the archipelago as part of their strategy to achieve international dominance (Go Foster, 2003, p.148). Filipinos resisted their colonization by the United States, resulting in the Philippine-American war. The US tried to suppress the resistance of Filipinos through various techniques, including the establishment of a US disposal in the country. Just as the US and the Philippines were finishing plans for independence, however, Japan invaded the country during World War II. The Philippines and the US, flat working together, defeated the Japanese colonizers in 1944. The US granted the Philippines its independence in 1946 .Today, the Philippines still bears the unmistakable marks of its long history of colonialism. The Filipino language, which is mostly composed of the native dialec t of Tagalog, includes umpteen Spanish terms. Words like mesa (table), libro (book), lugar (place), and kalye from the Spanish calle (road) are just some examples of the Spanish languages impact on the native tongue (Schirmer Shalom, 1987, p. 204). Its not only in the Filipino language that the long Spanish rule is evident, however. Many elements of Filipino culture have traces of Spanish colonization. For instance, many Filipino families today still practice the Spanish siesta or sleeping during the afternoon. Traditional Philippine clothes like the camisa de chino for men and the barot saya for women look like derivatives of handed-down Spanish dresses. While the Spaniards ruled the Phillipine islands for the longest time among all other colonizers, Americans perhaps have the deepest impact on the culture of the country. Today, many Filipinos, including the regimen, treasure the divinatory friendship of the Philippines with the United States. The Philippine government has const ant contact with the US government and is very vocal about its support of US policies and stands on international issues. The English language is spoken or at least understood by most Filipinos living in the country. Hollywood films do not demand to be translated to the Filipino language in order for locals to understand the content. Malls in the country are lined with American shops which many Filipinos frequent. The local media is filled with American films and songs which people tune in to every day.In fact, many Filipinos learn the English language through the media and not through schools, although the English language is taught in elementary and high school (Go Foster , 2003, p. 198). The Philippine government also derives many things from its American counterpart. The government has a President, Senate, House of Representatives and judiciary arm. It is protected by an armed force with the president as its commander-in-chief. Perhaps the most glaring difference between the Philippine and the US government is that the former does not conform to the federal system.Charter change movements in the country recently however, are trying to change that to adopt the federal system (Go Foster, 2003, p. 153). Since the Japanese colonization of the Philippines was short-lived, it go away few lasting impacts on the country. The Japanese government still supports the victims of its invasion today, though, especially the veterans of the war and its victims. The Japanese colonization of the country is taught at history classes, ensuring the sensation of young Filipinos of their unfortunate past with Japan (Ikehata Yu-Jose, 2003, p. 328).Past wounds have made the Philippines a very open country to all nations and races of the world. Many Filipinos today bonk Japanese culture, which is exported to the country mostly in the form of anime (Japanese animation) and computer products. The Philippine government also works together with the Japanese government to alter the lives of citizens (Ikehata Yu-Jose, 2003, p. 328). The geography of the country also bears many marks of colonialism. Manila became the capital city of the country mainly due to the fact that it has ports that welcome ships from other territories.Manila though is not the most prosperous city in the Philippines today. Quezon City, also located in the national capital region, has a wider area and grows at a tremendous pace. Makati City, the Philippine business center, is dotted with skyscrapers that house many multinational companies that do business in the country (Espiritu, 2003, p. 23). The Philippines is a rich source for gaudy and skilled labor for many developed countries worldwide because of the Filipinos mastery of the English language. There is a booming outsourcing and call center industry in the country which provide young Filipinos with stable jobs. Its very convenient for American companies to hire call center agents in the country because Filipinos know the English language by heart. Compared to other sources of labor in the world, Filipinos are easy to train to adopt the American English accent. Filipinos are also known as hard-working individuals, qualification them tempting investments to multinational companies (Espiritu, 2003, p. 23). Resistance though doesnt disappear even in this age of friendship with past colonizers. There are still many social movement groups in the country that promote the interests of the country by resisting the influence of the United States and other foreign nations. These nationalistic groups follow developments in the government to ensure that Filipino interests are not compromised because of foreign interests or corruption within the government. Some of these groups also recruit members from schools and mobilize them through protests or demonstrations (Pomeroy, 1992, p. 25). The Philippines is now free but experts claim that modern forms of imperialism are still affecting many aspects of the country.Although the age of colonialism is over because the US and other foreign nations cannot put up governments in the Philippines anymore, their cultural influences are still felt by Filipinos as globalization speeds up. Accepting foreign influences in the culture, government and economy of the country is not necessarily disadvantageous to Filipinos, but its always best to focus on their own interests as a nation. The development of the Philippines will be scurrying once it learns to balance the lessons it learned from colonialism with the present realities it confronts. References Espiritu, Y. L. Effect of Globalisation on Communication in Tourism Industry

Effect of Globalisation on dialogue in Tourism IndustryGlobalisation and the network nominate changed every typeface of the tourism and unfilled industry from marketing and intercourse carry to concording and hospitality function. Many of the previous strategies employed by the industry no longer are utile because of these new market forces. Organisations within the tourist and empty industry mustiness be attuned to the shift in consumer and business trends related to where they seek selective information and book their travel in order to maintain or grow their businesses. Companies should as well as be aware of how various discourse channel stinkpot be leverage to attract specific regional tourist markets. This paper examines both traditionalistic and innovative confabulation channels print, media, meshing, agencies and booking companies, and word-of-mouth to distinguish between what is impelling and non-effective now and in the near future based on specific trends that are currently influencing the industrys evolution. As the research found volition illustrate, the effectiveness or non-effectiveness of each channel is linked to the travel stage from planning and booking to the savoir-faire experience and journey home.Traditional communication channels within the travel industry have centred on booking agencies an shops, print media and advertising, marketing collateral, and television and radio. When it comes to the savoir-faire experience, word-of-mouth, travel kiosks, and tourist centres are other traditional channels that seem to work well.1 These channels were and, to a certain extent, still able to provide brand promotion, nurture customer relationships, and offer a pry proposition.2 In relation to marketing efforts, traditional channels follow a passive one-to-many communication model, whereby a company stires current and potential customers through the publicise of the same contentedness.3 However, in terms of todays marketing strategies, there are a number of reasons why this channel is not effective uncustomised message to every consumer, wasted exposures to uninterested consultations, and noise distraction from competing and conflicting messages.4 Addition altogethery, traditional mass media formats of print, television and radio do not offer the new holds for interactivity, flexibility, and accessibility.5In terms of booking travel, these channels may still attract a certain demographic of travellers, but they mediums do not reach the potential audience that might be possible if much innovative channels were utilised. This is because of a movement related to consumer preferences from the High Street to the Internet.6 In addition, these channels could also be considered ineffective based on their inability to maximise monetary resources. These channels can also be ineffective in that they do not general anatomy repeat business or encourage long-term relationships with customers because th ere is an inability to develop specific, customised communications. Print, television and radio tend to be more than expensive trance booking agencies and shops tend to produce higher overhead costs, making these more expensive than some of the newer methods of communication that rely on technology to reach more people while minimising the cost of using these channels. The traditional methods of communication tend to be more fragmented, reducing the level of brand recognition and equity that could be achieved through some of the more innovative channels.7One aspect where traditional communication channels may still be effective is with destination guides and inspection and repairs once travel has been booked and the trip has commenced. For example, it is estimated that 60-70 per cent of visitors to the UK will still use travel books and guides while 10-20 per cent will still seek tourer Information Centres or related in person service to get their information.8 While 25 per cen t may utilise the Internet or a mobile device while others will use a combination of traditional and technology communication channels to find information about their destination while travelling,9 traditional channels seem to be more effective during this part of the experience. There are signs, however, that indicate that technology may enable these communication channels to become more effective in addressing travellers who are seeking unique destination experiences and on-demand information. While basic information, such as specifics on major attractions, hotels, restaurants, and the like, will still be sought, there may be a need to also supply information on unique places, opening and mop up times, special exhibitions, and smaller attractions.10 As travellers become more technologically savvy, the traditional methods may no longer satisfy demand. As one study noteworthyFor example, growth is being realised in handheld devices that combine cell phone voice communication, Inte rnet access and global positioning enabling visitors en route to a destination to access product information and make bookings to put together itineraries and to relate their position quickly to nearby services (theatre, restaurants, attractions, events, etc.11Those destination service organisations currently focused on traditional communication channels may want to start strategising on how to incorporate new channels into their offering to retain their customer base.More than other industries, tourism is an information-intensive industry that consists of numerous producers that need to work together to serve their clientele.12 As such, it was one of the first industries to widely adopt13 some of the emerging communication channels, such as the Internet, which has increased the interactivity between consumers and suppliers.14 Not only does it provide an inexpensive delivery channel for information, but it also empowers the marketing and communication functions of remote, periphe ral and insular destinations as well as small and medium sized tourism enterprises which become able to communicate straight off with their prospective customers and differentiate their product according to their needs.15 Traditional communication channels could not provide the geographic reach that a channel like the Internet has now been able to do in creating an infrastructure that enables information convergence. One niche where the Internet has been particularly effective as a channel for the tourist and leisure industry is marketing communications and advertising by creating a narrowcast.16 In terms of addressability, those utilising this channel can also provide unique experiences for the consumer. Customisation of information and the ability to create unique sales propositions make newer communication channels, such as the Internet and database management, more effective than its traditional predecessors. The Internet can efficaciously mirror the benefits of personal sellin g techniques but with much more flexibility, better memory and little cost.17 This need for customisation comes from the growing shift in the demographics of today and tomorrows traveller. As one research firm noted More attention will need to be given to tailoring propositions to suit the maturement population, those with more time and money to spend on leisure, the childless couples seeking quality time, or the emerging traveller nations of China and Central Europe.18 Strategies now must address multi-generational needs, wants and desires.19 The introduction of mobile handsets and high-tech communication channels has helped the industry develop and leverage customer relationships and to interact with more customers across more channels than ever before.20 The ability to achieve this also creates effective cross-selling opportunities that might not have been possible using traditional channels.21Related to these demographic trends, consumer and business demand is also now on an i nstantaneous cycle. Provide the information that they need or they will move onto the competition. Traditional methods cannot adapt to these lead times22, making the Internet and real-time answers via web sites a more effective method. Online travel agents are an excellent example of just how effective the Internet is as a communication channel. As one research firm explained, The global reach of the worldwide web brings the massive network of suppliers, such as airlines, hotels and tour operators, within the reach of millions of customers.23 Unlike a traditional travel agency, online channels provide 24/7 access, real-time updates, and the ability for multiple brands and travel products to be offered simultaneously for the last(a) price, reducing the time that the consumer or business has to spend searching for their travel needs.24 There is also a degree of transparency in pricing that has never been possible.25 No traditional communication method can deliver this type of effecti veness.Despite the effectiveness that the Internet and technology have brought to the travel industry, one aspect that illustrates the advantage of traditional methods comes down to personal service. Unfortunately, technology removes the intimacy of face-to-face communication channels. In response, many organisations utilising technology are providing telephone support so that customers still feel that connection.26An interesting aspect of business that is becoming a growing part of the tourist industry is environmentally based and involves Corporate neighborly Responsibility (CSR). This becomes especially important in new and emerging economies.27 In looking at other aspects of the travel and leisure industry that utilise communication channels, the use of local community groups, community leaders, and media organisations28 are two channels that work effectively to help develop a sustainable tourist clientele in developing countries, such as those in Africa, Eastern Europe, and A sia. These channels can help create a tourist trade in less modernised areas through such grassroots tactics as training participatory workshops community, group, and individual meetings local radio school newsletters and local events.29 In these areas, more advanced channels, such as the Internet, may not be effective except for attracting travellers from Westernised cultures that rely on this technology to find information. If the goal is to attract more foreign tourists, investment in tactics utilising this type of channel might then become an effective mechanism for a sustainable tourist and leisure industry. The Internet could then become an important way to put local tourism micro-enterprises into direct contact with the global market of travellers.30The changing levels of effectiveness in the various travel and leisure communication channels have had the greatest negative impact on smaller, niche travel agencies. They cannot compete with larger online entities that have the r esources to participate in the newer, more effective channels created through technological advancements and the globalisation efforts of travel and hospitality firms. Other aspects of the travel and leisure industry can look to utilise both traditional and emerging communication channels for effective coverage and interaction with their customers by enhancing their marketing and promotional efforts while expanding the capabilities of their service offering. The tourist and leisure industry will need to continue utilising a multi-pronged approach through the power of multiple communication channels to serve all its customers.WORKS CITEDBuhalis, Dimitrios. Public Opinions of UFOs and Previous Research

Public Opinions of UFOs and Previous interrogationDO THE OPINIONS PEOPLE shake ABOUT UFOS PROVE THAT UFOS ARE THERE?IntroductionEdward U. Condon, 1968, defined UFO (short for obscure go object), as an object seen in the sky and thought to be capable of flight , which observers could not identify. Most scientists assumeing UFOs adopt such a definition. According to Ruppelt,1956, the first reported photograph of a UFO was make on July 4th, 1947 in Seattle, Washington. Edward U. Condon, 1968 presented a scientific study on UFOs, which influenced the research of UFOs. Since that time, Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), Center for UFO (CUFOS) Centre Nationale dtudes Spatiale Studies (CNES) collection dtude des Phhnom5mes Ahrospatiaux Non-Identifiis (GEPAN) has emerged to carried out UFO research. (P. A. Sturroc, 1987). The UFO phenomenon has puzzled the public and the scientist for almost half centuries. According to Patricia B. Corbett, 2015, about 70% Ameri back believed that UFOs were r eal at the beginning of the 21st century.Literature reviewDon Berliner, 1995, UFO was reported in Government Statements, some was discovered by Radar , some was mantraped by narrator , some was discovered by telescope. The Air force-out Environmental Technical Applications Center released 3,200 UFO reports received during 1947 -1952. According to Menkello, F.V.,1969, Most UFOs could be observed in daylight with simple geometric shapes spheres, discs, cylinders and triangles. Gillmor, Daniel S.1969 reported two witnesses observed UFO, silvery, metallic disc-shaped ,10m diameter as well the geometric, psychological and material f conductors investigated .The purpose of this study is to establish whether the opinions of the public in regards to UFOs prove the existence of UFOs. Nearly all of the worlds populaces that have held in reserve written accounts of epochs gone by havedocumented the hearings and sightings of weird objects and illumination in the firmament. These objects ha ve often been depicted as gleaming wheels, colored orbs light beams, and diskshaped bits and pieces. In the present day, inexplicable airborne phenomena be in general known as or rather christened- unidentified flying objects (UFOs) or flying saucers. Innumerable accounts of UFO sightings are present and are properly acknowledged in the literature of the study of the class of UFOs. This area of study is extensively known as ufology (Jacobs, 1975).I will discuss different literary industrial plant on whether the opinions people have about UFOs prove that UFOs are there. This paper will critique the literary works as well as solution chiefs like whether there are really UFOs in existence? Whether the reports on the existence of UFOs are conclusive? Different literary works will be examined and critiqued to make a final conclusion on the farfetched ideology of UFOs.The authors individual records consist of the prime baptistry papers of various past literary works. There are also almost certainly a few aural discussions with key onlookers to the apparent existence. This is a minor primary data base matched up to with the bona fide long-standing case tecs in the field. Some of them are in possession of or have ready touch sensation to the air force Project Bluebook microfilms consist of all accessible project exploratory papers from the year 1947 to the year 1969 recording almost thirteen thousand sightings. free-and-easy readers would be implausible to encounter an opportunity to interpret such documented documentation even if they aspire to. The closest that such a booklover can get to such data is to interpret either a comprehensive exploration of an exact case assembled by a key case investigator or compilation of facts (Menzel Tavez, 1977).An immense pool of scientific information on UFOs can mostly be found only in the published accounts of witnesses. In addition to it, it can be tapped by the vigilant investigation of particulars in distinct well-d ocumented proceedings or in the amalgamation from some analogous instances. authenticity of the facts is guaranteed when the records comprise of scientific information that possibly will not probably have been acknowledged to the witnesses. Oddly enough, evidence from uncomplicated, normal people can as a result be the most priceless. It is necessary to put ones interest upon the observable fact documented rather than the personality of the witness or supplementary diversionary matters. At the time a UFO generates some noticeable outcome in our surroundings, it should be acquiescent to methodical investigation that is, it is supposed to have a rational elucidation. As a consequence, proficient examination of UFO sightings and stories will more(prenominal) often than not unveil the comminuted mechanism that generates the pragmatic effect, or at least recognize one that whitethorn be dependable. All experimental consequences of UFOs, apart from entirely mechanical procedures and ob jects, stretch out propositions of gravitational and electromagnetic fields in their locality. The impacts that the sightings of extra terrestrial beings or rather objects can bear an unfavorable influence onthe populace if predisposed in the wrong way. There is no concrete at examineation that shows that UFOs arein existence, nevertheless scores of the reported sightings cannot be verified otherwise. The facts from the mainstream media, stories, ora persons own understanding may time and again manipulate what someone perceives to be true. Various administrations had onceavowed that they had gotten a hold of some extra terrestrial beings and objects. On theconverse, a good enactment of scientists currently seem to be in agreement that approximately all sightings and accounts ofextra terrestrial beings and objects are not bona fide. Since the year 1948, the United States of America administration has proceedingsof many UFO sightings, including photos of alleged UFOs andinterviews wi th people who claim to have seen them. In view of the fact that UFOs were cut out as an impending security threat the enlarge on these sightings were in the beginningtaken as state secret. As soon as the report was soon after declassified itgave evidence that 90 percent of to each one and every UFO sightings could be explained without any difficulty (Craig, 1995).The past accounts of UFO sightings and their societal and opinionated perspective and consequences comprises of the extensive subject matter of this study and offers a position for scrutiny of how experts deal with both in public and in confidence, incongruities that come out in relevance to science. The systematic appraisal of unidentified flying objects, specially undertaken by the Air Force in the year 1968 and christened as the Condon Report accords a multifaceted case for the investigation of how the results and conclusions of the exploration were predisposed by all that had transpired on before in the area of ufolog y (Hauck, 1976).As per the deductions of this case study on how experts conduct themselves when faced with uncharacteristic phenomena, one could investigate fill-in models that may be productive to the study of contentious research topics. One may carry out a textual investigation of Air Force intelligence of UFOs and evaluate them with sighting accounts of the public. The proof concerning UFOs incidental and sprouts from individual authentication and eyewitness stories, which are not approved as conclusive evidence the witnesses act as the tool of breakthrough. In ufology, the most important researchers are proletarian as a consequence the proof is indefinite and colored by the standpoint and structure of allusion of the individual researcher. Currently, there are many accounts on diverse aspects of the UFO phenomena establish on peoples opinions but this does not formalize their existence. Don Berliner et al, 1995 presented case history of UFOs during the period 1944-1994.These cases were from thousands of unexplained UFO reports. Some were witnessed by expert, some were described in detail. Some were authenticated . they formed the arse of the UFO mystery. These case histories offered clear patterns for research and should not be consider as collection of disparate observational errors. Each of the cases represented one or more characteristics of UFO reports physical traces, radar/visual detection, air-to-air sightings and multiple witness observations etc. Most of these cases involved government activity to some extent.ResearchQuestionsThe question in studies of UFO photographs is does the report have any probative value in establishing the existence of UFO? and the secondary question is what is the final score of each photograph?(Edward U. Condon, 1968)Don Berliner et al, 1995 said the primary question if UFOs are so different from all known phenomena, what are they? still remained.Patricia B. Condon, 1968, carried out a UFO research base on convincing case of photographic evidence and scientific investigation, but Hynek, J. S. (1972) and P. A. STURROC (1987) make detail criticisms on the methodology. A panel of the national academy of sciences, 1968 pointed out that the methodology and approach in were in accordance with accepted standards of scientific investigation. Hynek, J. S. (1972) developed the death Encounter classification system which was considered as scientific analysis methods for UFOs. Jacques F. Vallee, 1990 carried out A survey of ten cases of UFOs. According to P. A. STURROC, 1987, investigation with one or more considered Extra-terrestrial Hypothesis was carried out in most scientific research.Scientists need conduct a serious investigation of the UFO phenomenon as the following steps for the first time to observe a physical phenomenon by their own eyes secondly to formulate a hypothesis about the phenomenon thirdly to carry out experiments to test the hypothesisv fourthly to draw a conclusions based on the results of the tests. Although todays scientists are interested in UFOs, they refuse to look into the telescope and unwilling to buy the farm involved publicly. (Patricia B. Corbett ,2015). The scientific method should be open minded in the data collecting and analysis without prejudice.Sturrock, Peter A., 1999 represented a reasonable overview of the p hysical realities of UFOs.Sturrock, Peter A. began his study with a review of the historically important Condon Report and considered it scientifically flawed. Sturrock, Peter As The UFO Enigma addressed the presentations based on substantial evidence. Sturrock also addressed trace evidence which reported landings of UFOs.ReferencesA panel of the national academy of sciences,1968 ,review of the university of colorado report on unidentified flying objects, retrieved on Feb,15th ,2015 from http//www.dod.mil/pubs/foi/homeland_defense/UFOs/nas_re1.pdfCraig, Roy. INTRODUCTIONThroughout history the concept of innovation has been debated. Since the time of classical economists this issue has been present, even in the current age. Also important authors have highlighted innovation as essential for the socio-economic that is why it is relevant to use up this phenomenon. In novation is one of the unwrap factors for companies that pauperization to argue in an increasingly international and global food market place. But to qualify for that capacity, companies must invest in knowledge, structure, query and a good strategy to enable them to decide, from the parentage, who they want to become. There are umpteen definitions about the term innovation and numerous theoretical contributions around this phenomenon. The term innovate comes from the Latin etymology innovare that mean channelise or alter things by introducing pertly features (Medina Salgado Espindola and Espinosa 1994).Innovation is the intersectionion, assimilation and successful exploitation of novelty in the economic and social environment1.2 DEFINITIONS OF INNOVATIONInnovation is the dish of integrating existing applied science and inventions to pass water or improve a product, a process or a system.Innovation in an economic sense impression is the consolidation of a saucyproduct , process or system improvement (Freeman, C., 1982)Innovation is the specific tool of entrepreneurs (Peter Drucker 1985)The act that endows resources with a spick-and-span capacity to create wealth (Peter Drucker 1985).Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower (Steve Jobs 2005)Joseph Schumpeter be innovation in a general sense, took into account different cases of change to be considered as a innovation. These are the market introduction of a new good or new class of goods, the use of a new source of raw materials ( some(prenominal) product innovation), the incorporation of a new outturn method non experienced in a particular sector or a new authority of dealing commerci all(prenominal)y a new product (process innovation), or market innovation which is the establishment of a new market structure (Joseph Schumpeter 1935)2. TYPES OF INNOVATIONThere are three main types of innovationProduct InnovationIt is the market introduction of a new technology product (whose scientific characteristics differ signifi deposetly from previous products) or significantly improved(previously existing whose performance has been improved or greatly improved)Process InnovationIs the word meaning of new production methods or significantly improved. Can be use to produce or deliver expertly new or improved products, which cannot be produced or delivered using conventional methods of production, also it could increase primarily the efficiency of production.Organizational InnovationIt is the introduction of changes in the forms of anxiety of the establishment. There are new changes in the organization and management process, incorporating new organizational structures2.1 INNOVATION MODELSThere are several innovation models, which 4 of them are common and relevant elongate modelThe linear model of innovation is an interpretation of the act of innovation, outdated but is shut away applied in many cases. This model is a way of theorizing the logical sequence of the process that results in innovation. Sequence is too rigid to describe a process that depends not only on science / technology or market to initialize the generation of innovations. The strict separation between invention, innovation and marketing does not accurately represent the dynamics of innovation today. The linear model is a first generation model, and only takes into account the thrust of science / technology or market pull (concepts 50-60-70 years) as a operator to contract the process of innovationOpen modelOpen model Innovation is a new innovation strategy in which companies get innovation that comes from outside the companys internal boundaries. This term was coined by Henry Chesbrough, who in his track record Open Innovation, proposes to open the creative processes of innovation, in aim to get advance(a) ideas from any source, whether internal or outside to the company, and not only from the areas dedicated to the business activityOpen Innovation means combinin g internal knowledge with external professional cooperation. Thus, research centers as well as universities, experts and other companies offer solutions to companies of what is known as collective intelligence. This will break new ground, contacts, opportunities, where innovative ideas eat freely from any sourceTeece modelTeece proposes a model that takes into account two factors that are important to profit from innovation ease of imitation (imitability) and completing assets. The imitability can come of intellectual property, protection of technology or the fact that imitators have no actors to mimic the technology. Complementary assets are beyond the capabilities-technology that the firm of necessity to exploit (manufacturing, marketing, redistribution channels, service, reputation, brand and complementary technologies)Blue marine-The author focuses on the need to put aside destructive competition between companies if you want to be a winner in the future, expanding the hori zons of the market and create value through innovation. the author differentiates two most common competitive situations in any intentness voluptuous oceans and red oceans. Red oceans represent all the industries that exist today, while macabres symbolize business ideas currently unknown. In red oceans industries limits are well defined and are accepted as they are. The to a greater extent competitors in that respect are, the benefits and harvest-feast opportunities diminish, products are live onardized to the maximum and competition becomes bloody. By contrast blue oceans are characterized by the creation of markets in areas that are not currently exploited, and that create opportunities for sustained profitable growth and long-term3. Among the main ones include Customers constituted by groups of persons or institutions who buy the goods and use the services of the organization. Providers Providers are company specific, both information and funding, as the raw material that the company needs to operate. Competition specific companies that offer goods and service s identical or alike(p) to the same groups of customers or clients. regulators who are the agencies and government representatives at the local, state and national laws that punish and regulations affecting business operations within a given country.macroenvironment construe the social forces that affect the whole microenvironment and includes demographic forces, economic, natural, technological, political, cultural and competitive.Competitive environment, every company must take into account its size and position in the industry with respect to its competitors. To survive, a company must meet the needs and desires of consumers better than does the competition.Economic environment involves factors affecting purchasing power and spending patterns of consumers. Purchasing power depends on income, prices, savings and credit of the momentTechnological environment the most dramatic force that shapes our destiny is technology.Political environment consists of laws, government agencies a nd pressure groups that influence and limit the activities of various organizations and several(prenominal)s in society.Cultural Environment includes institutions and other forces affecting the values, perceptions, preferences and behaviors of societyLIDERSHIP lead has been defined as the activity of influencing people to assay willingly for the achievement of the objectives of the group. By group we mean a small group, a sector of the organization, an organization. What matters is the organizational leadership in the field. From this definition arise two key areas of leadership1) The intellectual process of thinking about the objectives of the organization.2) The human factor, that is, influence people to voluntarily strive to achieve the objectives.John P. Kotter, in his book The Leadership Factor (1988), says that leadership is characterized by the following1) Develop a vision of what should be the organization and generate the necessary strategies to implement the vision.2) Ac hieve a network co working(a) human resources, which involves a group of highly motivated and committed to make the vision a reality. The definition of leadership cited at the beginning contains a key word voluntarily, which could also be translated as willingly. Not just about influencing people to do but to voluntarily strive to match targets.ApproachesThese approaches are based on the study of behavior rather than on the depth of personality traits of substantival theories. The most important contributions in this regard have been those ofTheory X and Y Mc GregorTheory X leads to an autocratic leader performance, and the Y theorie leads to a participatory performance. But being a unidimensional approach that works with a single variable, the use of authority by the person who leads, is not accourate enough to explain its complexity as is leadershipLikert management systemsFormulated a model with intermediate degrees between X and Y. To Likert best to lead a team corresponds to a participatory behaviour Likert found that management under the participatory system were most effective and in which showed the best motivation. He built a very comprehensive questionnaire on organizational characteristics, that tests 18 variables classified in the categories Leadership, Motivation, Communication, and others. Its main limitation is that it is only useful in cases where it is intended to improve the lead making it more participatory. In this sense it is more applicable to small groups and instructed personnel. The Managerial Grid of Blake and MoutonThis marriage of researchers was able to define a model based on the intersection of two variables the affect for people and concern for production. While five main positions are standardized, the grid gives possibilities to eighty-one intersection between the two variables. The main contribution is to show that both variables are called mutually. It would be hard to imagine good long-term gains without a committed and motiva ted personnel.Without doubt, the greatest value of this approach is that it breaks the paradigm dimensional. However, the main critique he has received is that indicate a unique driving style as best for all circumstances.CHANGE MANAGEMENTIt is a process by which organizations move from the present state to a future state, changing in order to increase their effectiveness. A Process to achieve better efficiency, in which an organization achieves its objectives. organizational efficiency is amount of resources the organization has ,to be used to produce a depend of products.Levels changeWhen focused on the organization as a whole, we face that this can be divided into four levels at the time of analyzing the changesStrategic level proposing a change in the overall objectives of the organization, both in monetary value of its essential orientation of vision and their reason for their mission.Structural level proposes a change in the organizational structures, it involves changing a uthority relations, the coordination mechanisms, redesigning jobs, or similar structural variablesTechnical level technology change encompasses changes in how work is processed and the methods and equipment used.Human level people change refers to changes in attitudes, skills, expectations, perceptions and behavior of employees, including, in turn, gibe to Daft and Steers (1992) four types of changes patterns of interaction, skills in human relations and in the basic attitudes, values and motivations of individuals. Thereby changing the behavior of individuals and groups requires the transformation of one or more of the aforementioned levels (Quoted in Romeo, 1999).Models of organizational changeMany models are used to carry out or try to explain, in an effective way, the process of change, example is the model of Lewin.Lewin (1951) develops a dynamic theory, which explains that the the behavior is a function of the individuals interaction with his social environment, essentially based on the different groups to which the person belongs. it should focus not only on the individual in isolation, but in this within their social environment, taking as unit change the social group to which the individual belongs. The status quo of the organization, to Lewin (1951) is a state of dynamic equilibrium between forces that tend to help the organization and forces that tend to counteract or prevent wrong decitions, and to effect a change is necessary to break that dynamic balance between these forces. unfreezing is the name given to this initial process where old ideas or practices are suppress by new ones and can be induced by increasing the driving forces of change growing perception of benefits associated with this, by reducing the resistance or obstacles to change, or combination of both. Following the Change in which new ideas practices. then comes refreezing ,requiring the integration of new insights into the structure of the organizational system . The refreezing state marks the contain of the organization to a dynamic balance of forces that support or restrict any intervention.Critical analysis4. INTROFew companies can be depict as subversive and successful, changing markets and consumer behaviours, apple is one of them, a remarkable company that over time has created an identity and an image that impacted in their followers. The technological direction of the company began to build in 1971 when they met Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs. The former is responsible for creating the first Apple computer, while the latter promoted among the major supporters of computing and digital electronics shops.Apple has begun a career that has had its ups and downs due to different administration, Steve Jobs being the most successful, turning the company into one of the largest in historyBut what does make it a success?Innovation, the key of success, which leads to a competitive advantage. From the beginning of Apples history in 1976, Steve Jobs, the soul o f the company, had a different view of its competitors, looking distinguished among its rivals, trying exclusivity and novelty, as jobs mention, I want to bring an easy to use computer to the market. From here we can analyze that jobs from the start thinking like a consumer, which would win the loyalty of its customers. With the launch of Apple II the computer revolution began, having as the main rival IBM.But what type of innovation strategy do they have at that time? clearly the development of their products were made by them within their company, all the ideas were in apple, As mentioned in the textbook Apple practised to horizontal and vertical integration relied on its own property designA classic type of linear model innovation, as mentioned in the literature review.Basic researchApplied researchDevelopmentCommercializationThe challenges started when IBM developed a faster processor and the use of an open operative system(ms dos) Limitating the sofwares that apple had developed, as well as the slow processor speed, and fall 62% of apple net income between 1982 and 1983 leading to a crisis in the company and the dismissal of Steve Jobs. With the entry of Sculley as CEO, apple tried to gain musculus quadriceps femoris in a new market, education, which were driven by its high technology softwares, they recover their market share and stabilized at 8% as (referred in the case study)As the philosophy of Jobs to make things simple, Sculley introduce plug and play peripherals which allow overpricing their products.4.1 THE STRATEGYAt this stage the revenues came from exclusivity rather than cheap products and apple still producing their own monitors, chips and disk drivers, keeping the classic innovation model. But now apple forge and alliance with their main rival, IBM ,creating 2 joint ventures in order to produce new operating systems and multimedia applications,Sculley was replaced in June 1993 by Michael splinder. It was a good decision to change the management? With the new management, changes were inevitable, apple started licence many companies to make Mac clones, trying to reduce costs, which was a poor decision made by splinder, apple lost 69 billion dollars in 1996 subsequently 12 years Steve Jobs returned and became the interim CEO of apple4.2 NEW BEGINING, NEW IDEAS, INNOVATIONWith the return of Steve Jobs, Apple returned to the path of innovation. Not only in technology but also in the strategy and business model. For exampleOpening its own stores to broaden the scope of the external distribution channel. For the first time apple open and online store to set up direct salesThey invest more money on Research and DevelopmentDecrease its inventoryIn 1998 apple gained real profit from their all in one computer, iMac, that could support Microsofts peripherals for the first time. With jobs in command, the company started to reshape quickly. Those were signs that the course was on track, Apple affix a profit of 309 trillion Dollars4.3 NEW STRATEGY-BLUE OCEANThe real revolution of apple came with uncontested line of products, the reinvention of portable music devices, the telephone and the tablet.Apple had an not bad(p) strategy, the digital hub strategy, Mac became the preferred hub to control, integrate and add value to these devices. All started with the iPodAs the theory of Blue Ocean, in order to create a new market and escape from the battling Red Ocean a company have to be innovative, different.Apple launched a new concept of music device, the iPodBlue ocean strategy quick analysis (BASED ON IPOD DEVICE)1. Increase the music storage can store up to 1000 songs2. Reduce energy consumption, up to 10 hours battery3. Create ultra portable high performance device, iTunes4. Eliminate old concept of music device.Through this commitment to innovation on all fronts in which focused,Apple managed to gain success as 60% of the digital music market. With the iPod, Apple has done what he does best offer a productInnovative, bringing together high technology, attractive design and a simple interfaceuse. And with its iTunes online store, Jobs offered an innovative business model.iPhoneA new revolution of the company would begin with the launch of the iPhone in 2007, a multimedia smart phone with Internet access, touch screen and a minimal hardware interface. His success was such that it would be awarded the Invention of the Year by Time magazine in 2009, Apogee has maintained that through the sale of new issues as the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4iPadWith a revolutionary concept between smartphone and a laptop (which would later be called tablet), the company lashes out in early 2010 to introduce its new device called iPad. Its multitouch capabilities, wide screen, its innovative design and powerful hardware allowed him to position itself as the most popular product of the year. However not all inventions made by apple where sucesful, not always an Innovative product will be succesful, for instance t he Mac Mini and the Apple TV were a failure,But why?Because they havent figured out the right way to create a compelling TV productMost of their best selling products are based on an apple operative system, and a TV box does not need that.Microenvironment FACTORS-SWOT ANALYSISStrengths Apple is one of the marks of technological innovation in the worlds largest entertainment. It has a large number of fans who admire the quality of their products. Such loyalty guarantees the permanence of its customers and generates the attraction of new consumers. In turn, Apple products are easy to handle and excellent quality.Weaknesses Apple has been criticized for antenna problems on its latest iPhone. Moreover, its admission policies iTunes Store applications and user freedom are very restrictive. The costs of their products are usually a little higher.Opportunities The mobile market is expanding and Apple can leverage its established position in digital distribution. In the course of time, Appl e has made a huge acepatacin the AppStore (billion download until this year) developed by various groups of programmers in the world. Furthermore, due to its success, Apple is an interesting market for investment, which has benefited the company in times of crisis.Threats There is increasing competition in the technology market. Market companies are quick to market with products like the iPhone or iPad. To remain in place, Apple should invest more in research and technological development. Economic crisis.ChNGERecall that after having problems with the top management of the company he founded, Jobs was fired from Apple Computer in 1985, later founding the company NeXT, which was reabsorbed by the very Apple Computer in 1997, where Jobs is president ( CEO) since.1. Changes in the board of the company that meant a renewed confidence in the company and markedly increase the stock price of the company.2. The re-purchase of the licenses the use of PowerPC 750 (G3) of all companies that c ould make Mac clones (yes, there was a time that I had), so the company re-take control of the hardware in running your operating system. Start of organizational change Create a culture Reduce by 50% to 10% Research Development, and removed the unnecessary worker Launches first product of the new era Jobs. The IMAC computer without a tower, and of different colors, with cd, and no floppy. Jobs realizes the market opportunity that I had in music. After the success of Napster. AND ITUNES product launches, to the IMAC. And you create a culture, a style the best philosophy that a company can have. The music. Sony created the personal music player but did not use the MP3 market3. The announcement of the Power Mac G3 in November 1997 (new flag)These changes Apple made were to have a profitable quarter ($ 47 million). But after more decisions were taken that catapulted the company to a winning streak that continues to this day1. Drastically reduced hardware production line of the compan y.2. Because of this reduction is greatly change product offering Apple aside rare model names (most identified by numbers) and variations that just confused the current and future customers.3. The announcement of the iMac and PowerBook G3 in May 1998. Thus Apples offer was reduced to three elements* Advanced Desktops PowerMac G3.* Equipment for home desktop iMac.* Portable PowerBook G3.4. Completing hardware divisions that reported earnings as Newton, production printers and accessories. Significantly simplifying the internal structure of Apple.5. It starts selling the iMac on August 15, 1998 and became the fastest computer sold in history.Apple went from a quarterly loss of $ 740 million in June 1997 to gains above the $ 100 million per quarter in July 1998.In 2009, Apple reported profits over 8 billion dollars per quarterLeadershipWhen analyzing the personality of Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, there are many features that spring to mind to describe this technological genius w ho profoundly influenced a new generation with products like the iPod, iPad and iTunes. Some, stand for the rest of the business in its category. For example, a person was extremely perfectionist with each of the products created, intuitive to realize that products would have positive results and which are not, studious because researching every detail of your market and competition, and charismatic, because enthused employees to perform their work in a better way. While these qualities we find in some other successful entrepreneurs in their areas, the fact is that there is one that is shared by all innovative leaders curiosity.Thats because the primary secret of success of Steve Jobs lay in his curiosity, according to Forbes, for example, curiosity led him to study calligraphy, which could create fonts that Apple made known to its original design.Even the same curiosity led him to travel to India to study Eastern mysticism and Zen Buddhism, to seek simplicity of design. And it was pr ecisely this feature which became known as Apple technology company worldwide. This shows that the top executives are not always the most skilled, but are those who exploit the curiosity the most, as their ideas generate creative and successful business. In fact, one of the most famous phrases of Steve Jobs is when you innovate, you run the risk of wrong. Admit and innovates again. This reflects the spirit of entrepreneurship and creativity. Jobs was ahead of his time and embodied everything we thought it would be impossible to do.So do not doubt your ideas or your impulses. If your curiosity leads to new business plan, try. Maybe you can turn those ideas into big business to take you to achieve success in your caption and recognition among your competitors6. CONCLUSIONWith the case study over, it has been learned the importance of innovation and the impact that it has in companies around the world, such is apple and its successful history. Also it is important to point out the influ ence of the strategic planning in order to gain competitive advantage among competitorsit has been shown the importance of good management in critical situation and how it can affect the overall direction of a company.the blue ocean strategy has provided relevant information for the understanding of creating opportunities in new markets, for instance in the case of apple, the innovative idea of Steve jobs in the creation of the iPod, iPhone and iPad in the technological market made apple an outstanding successful company in the 21st century despite the fact of the global recessionFor the purposes of save research this assignment is for free useDANIEL LIZARRAGAReferencesMedina Salgado Espindola and Espinosa 1994Freeman, C., 1982 the economics of industrial innovation pg 56Peter Drucker 1985 Innovation and Entrepreneurship pg 28-pg29Steve Jobs 2005 Stanford university speechHenry Chesbrough Open Services Innovation Rethinking Your Business to Grow and Compete in a New Era pg 66Telegr aph 2011

Daniel Defoe and Robinson Crusoe :: Defoe Robinson Crusoe Essays

Daniel Defoe was an extraordinary man. Although he never had the benefit of a university education, he spoke vi languages and was able to read even more. His curriculum included having been a government spy, a shopkeeper, and a journalist. As the latter, he was employed by both major(ip) parties. Of course, serving two lord is impossible, so subsequently he got into trouble with both of these parties, he turned to writing as another means of living. The initiative major difference between Defoes work and most other books dating from this time is that Robinson Crusoe is really entertaining, quite exhilarating and at times even jolly to read. This is in sharp contrast to most contemporary novels which stuck to a Spartan diet of unreality and dullness, their only charm lying in the complete unfamiliarity to anything human. Basically, most stories at the time were chronicles of wonderful, magical events, not even attempting to resemble human life at all. Robinson Crusoe was one of th e first few books to have characters with whom a reader could actually identify. Therefore, it was very popular and this idea of recognition of oneself in a character in a book is directlyadays only discussed when it fails, implying that it now has become a natural recipe for writing any book. Most of todays popsongs become hits due to a hook a melodic chorus or implemental piece which basically does not need to convey any meaning whatsoever. Its only function is to keep the listener listening. Defoe also had grasped the idea of a hook. completely his is fairly bigger, namely about 10 pages, than your average popsong-hook, which contains 4-5 words, if any... For sometimes the lyrics are degraded to a repeated monosyllabic sound. Defoe put this theory into practice in Robinson Crusoe. First, he has Robinsons father lecture him on the middle station which is apparently the best state in the world. Of course, this little section is only needed to charm his materialistic audience. By refusing his fathers ideas, Robinson already seems like an ungrateful son in the eyes of the reader. Defoe adds more Christian morals as Robinson sinks deeper into sin. He drinks his repentance away after his first encounter with a storm, he refuses to listen to the captain who tells him you ought to take this for a plain and visible token that you are not to be a seafaring man.
